MUMSCLICK Guide to Holiday Sanity

We have prepared A Guide for all of us who have children off from school for the summer holidays. Children includes those from age 0-18.

1. Accept and get used to the fact that you are going to hear I’m bored probably about 1000 times per day
2. Accept the fact that you are going to hear ‘Can I have something to eat?’ about 1000 times per day.
3. Those with pre-teenage children accept the fact that your children will still wake up at the crack of dawn, leaving you with a good 12-15 hour day ahead of you.
4. Those with teenagers accept the fact that you probably won’t see them, before noon but that you will see them from then on to midnight and beyond.
5. When you do plan a day trip out (usually with expense involved) accept the fact that it is going to rain
6. In fact, accept the fact that it is going to rain more than it is going to be sunny.
7. Say yes to everything, that way you avoid confrontation.
8. Stock the house with us many crisps, biscuits, cakes, popcorn and chocolate and let them eat as much as they want whenever they want
9. Join the local video shop and make a trip there each day to hire at least 50 DVDs at a time
10. Can I watch some television, play the gameboy? Just hand over the control and expect not to see it again until September.
11. Get a lock on your bedroom door and just hide away.
12. Don’t even think about entering your teenagers room, especially when friends are around – if you must, do so at your own risk
13. Suggest reading a book or doing some maths practice. Are you mad mums? And what planet are you on? Don’t be so silly, please.
14. Hand over all rights to the computer (accept of course for your fix of MUMSCLICK)
15. Finally, keep the fridge well stocked with wine for you!

Happy Holidays.

I would say anytime if you have little ones, go to a playcentre, not cheap if you have a few kids but saved my bacon a few times when miss had a face on her and gives youa a chance for coffee and cake, my fave pastime!
