All About Eyes
We ran quite a few stories over the summer that a lot of members missed because they were away. These great tips from our resident beauty expert, Taylor, are too good to be missed so we thought we'd highlight them again.
Ok, this month its all about the eyes! How to accentuate, frame, and highlight! My newest product in my makeup box is a Lancome mascara bought for me by my husband. Its called L'extreme and it does what it says in its name! It gives you quite extreme lashes!! The brush is precise and coats your lashes to perfection. Because the brush is so precise, it seperates your lashes and gives the illusion of longer, more lush lashes!! I apply 2 or 3 coats to thicken my lashes.
Ok, so we have the basic "eye framing" advice down, but you dont just want to frame your eyes! You want to make them stand out, and whats better than an unconventional eyeliner?! My reccommendation is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On eye pencil for a pencil liner, and the Bourjois Liner Clubbing for liqid liner. I personally would choose a coloured pencil liner like the Urban Decay pencil in Rockstar. Its a dark purple, and looks fantastic lining the lower rim of your eyes. I smudge it slightly for a less polished, more casual look! To top your look off, draw a thin line of liquid liner over the rim of the top lashes to accentuate your eye.
If you dont want to go for such a lined look, try a white eyeliner pencil such as the Dior Khol Pencil in white on the bottom rim of the eyes, and then UNDER your lash line, gently smudge a dark liner in a thin line. This will open your eyes dramatically, creating a doe eyed look!
To finish your look, try the Benefit Brow-zings eyebrow compact. It comes with a wax to tame your brows, and a powder to set and colour them. Accompanying this are 3 tools - a mini wax brush, a mini eyebrow powder brush and a mini pair of tweezers. Start by collecting some wax on the wax brush and gently swipe it over your brow, following the hair direction and defining its natural shape. Then gather some of the brow powder on the required brush and gently fill in your brow, dabbing powder in "bald" areas lol! Any stray hairs, just pluck away with the tweezers! Easy peasy!!!
For the ultimate look, try the Benefit Eye Bright pencil. Dab a touch of it in the inner and outer corners of your eyes, to look more awake- fab for the day after the night before!!! To lift your brows, try the Benefit High Brow pencil. Draw a line immediately under your brow and the arch of your brown, and gently blend in. This gives you an instant brow lift, without the surgery!!!
Hope you try some of the items mentioned above! They should be a staple in every womans makeup bag!!
