The Reluctant Fundamentalist

by Mohsin Hamid

This is a great book. Its a relatively short, easy read, but still has great strength and depth to the main characters.

At a cafe table in Lahore, a Pakistani man converses with a stranger. As dusk deepens to dark, he begins the tale that has brought him to this fateful meeting.......The narrator, Changez, takes us through his past, his graduation from Princeton University, his infatuation with the beautiful Erica and high profile job with an elite valuation firm. But then Sept 11th happens and in the aftermath, Changez's view of America slowly begins to change.

This is an excellent book - I was gripped from start to finish. Give it a try - it has a harrowing ending too!
