The Book Thief

by Markus Zusak

This book is the best I have read in many months You thought you had done Hitlers Germany - but this reinvents the wheel - or the story! Great narartive style and great characters - found I was bound to the book after page 2! A review can't do justice to this - just read it!

I have to agree with Bernie and can add that it is one of those books that come around every few years. It left me with a feeling that something had to change with the way the world is now. I wanted to start reading it again once I had finished. It rekindled a sense of kindness and faith in the human spirit.Enjoy.....

Bernie and Monica are spot on about this one... only unlike Bernie it was page 1 that got me. I picked it up to read the first page and realised on page 42 I was still reading.

I've just finished reading this book and it really is wonderful. The story is not what I expected at all, very emotional especially towards the end and I find myself wanting more. A must read.

This is one of the best books I have read in ages. I found the first few pages (literally only 2!) a bit hard to get into and actually put off reading it until the holidays - I can't believe I waited. What an emotional, exciting, nail biting and thoroughly rewarding book to read.
